The Bai Lang Midland Open - Event 2 - Border Battle
Telford 19th August 2007
The second in our series of events saw representation from a host of clubs located as far afield as Maidstone in Kent, Middlesboro and Bury St Edmunds with over 100 fighters pre-registered.
Despite appaling traffic conditions with 2 major motorways disrupted and in turn our schedule, a good day was had by all with some fantastic fights and exceptional performances. The highlight of which being an extremely light and technical bout betwen full contact fighters Bonnie Webb of TKO and Rachel Rose of Jesters who had the crowd of almost 250 spellbound.
To all fighters and clubs who particpated we would like to extend our thanks for making the event so successful. Whilst our tech refurb was not completed, the camera installation was successful with virtually all fights recorded on DVD (sadly without sound) complimentary copies of which will be forwarded to the respective clubs.
Hopefully by the time our next event arrives in October the sound system will be in place together with ring lighting. Meanwhile we trust we'll see everyone at the next BLCC scheduled event on Sunday 2nd September in Matlock, Derbyshire and/or the following event in Maidstone Kent on the 23rd.
